Deep Tissue Massage/Holistic Massage

Deep tissue/ Holistic massage is aimed at everyone. Most people have occupations which involve repetitive postures which lead to deeper pain and tension e.g desk workers. In addition those who engage in regular sport or physical activity experience tight muscles leading to stiffness and pain. The massage can be adapted in terms of pressure and combines relaxation with deeper techniques and stretching to release muscular tension.

Pregnancy Massage

The massage takes place in a supported side lying position and is offered from the second trimester. Pregnancy can cause many changes to the mothers body putting pressure on joints, ligaments and organs often causing discomfort and pain. This can help treat pregnancy related conditions such as:

Sciatica
Migraines
Neck, shoulder and lower back pain
Oedema
It is also a great stress reliever and both mother and baby will benefit from the feel good endorphins that are released during a massage.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an ancient system of healing, based on the principle that different reflex or pressure points on the feet and hands correspond to our body’s organs, glands and systems. There are over 7000 nerve endings in each foot which connect to other parts of the body.

Through massage light pressure is applied to the reflex points which stimulate the body’s own healing process, bring about a state of deep relaxation and restore and maintain good health.

Fertility and Pregnancy Reflexology

If you are trying to conceive reflexology is a fantastic natural therapy that can help rebalance the body and restore it’s natural equilibrium.

Many midwives recommend reflexology as women during pregnancy have found it can help pregnancy related conditions and prepare the body for labour.
