Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing with other standard methods of diagnosis. The therapist using AK finds a muscle(s) that is unbalanced and then attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. The muscles tested throughout the body relate to each organ energy system. The therapist works out the treatment that will best balance the patient’s muscles.
Treatments may involve specific joint mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian energy techniques, clinical nutrition, dietary management, counselling skills, and evaluating environmental or food irritants. The idea of AK is to bring about balance by releasing energy blocks, eliminating toxins, mobilizing joints, nutritional rebalancing and enhancing the bodies own natural healing abilities.
What it addresses:
- Food and substance allergies/intolerances
- Digestive and lymphatic function
- Yeast/parasitic infections
- Lack of energy and stress patterns
- Nutritional and structural imbalances
- Emotional stress patterns
The benefit of Applied Kinesiology is to achieve optimum health through prevention.
Specific pregnancy treatments are tailored for the expectant mother to tone, support and care for the changing shape. Using specially designed cushions to support the body the therapist is able to focus on areas of tension and discomfort. Treatments provide relief and relaxation for you and your baby.
