“Just a quick note, to pass on my sincere thanks, for your care and kindness in the run-up to the birth of my baby. I am utterly convinced that the massage, reiki, reflexology and acupuncture (gosh was there anything we didn’t try!) was absolutely responsible for the speedy and normal delivery of our beautiful boy. With love and thanks.” Harriot, July 2011

Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates the body to adjust when it has been held in a pattern of problems that creates disharmony. Acupuncture is a very flexible therapy that can be used to calm and sedate when someone is too keyed up or it can be used to invigorate if someone is lacking in energy and feeling tired.

Acupuncture helps the body to change and adapt to natural rhythms so that it is always in balance. I would recommend a client to have at least 4 acupuncture sessions a year, with the changing of each season, to stay in tune.

Acupuncture for Infertility

Research does suggest that acupuncture is effective in reducing stress. Since stress has been shown to interfere with getting pregnant, it makes sense that reducing your stress through acupuncture could theoretically improve your odds of conceiving. Some women find acupuncture helpful to cope with the stress they feel about trying to conceive.

Acupuncture may also help male infertility. A few studies have shown that regular treatments significantly improve sperm counts and motility (the strength with which the sperm swim).

Acupuncture and IVF

If you are already undergoing conventional treatment for fertility, acupuncture treatment scan be viewed as truly complementary. We embrace an integrated approach to health and medicine, and will do whatever we can to help support your ongoing treatments. As well as enhancing fertility itself, acupuncture can be very helpful in reducing any unwanted side-effects of conventional medication, as well as giving your energy a boost. It is also great for calming any troubled emotions, worries or anxiety.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

This approach to Facial Rejuvenation starts from the inside, treating the root cause of your concerns and thereby helping to promote naturally beautiful skin that can allow your wrinkles to fade, your under eye puffiness to diminish, and your spirit to flourish. Acupuncture can provide a safe, effective, natural and drug-free approach to reducing the signs of aging.  It can enhance the muscle tone of the face and neck while addressing the underlying imbalances that may have contributed to the aging process. A course of ten treatments is recommended for best results.

Reflexology

Reflexology treats the person through the feet it is very accessible and enjoyable to receive. Reflexology is extremely relaxing and gives both body and mind the opportunity to switch off and start the process of rejuvenating itself. This treatment is about letting go of daily concerns and giving yourself the opportunity to just’ be’…

Reflexology can be used in a generic way to work with the entire foot or can be used to focus in on certain areas that require more attention. As with all these treatments the idea is to tailor the session to the needs of the individual.

Reflexology for fertility

Reflexology treatments can also help to improve a person’s fertility by positively directing the flow of energy where it is needed. There are points on the feet that correspond with the reproductive system in the body, and by manipulating these; the imbalances that can lead to problems conceiving can be corrected. Reflexology is also great for balancing hormones, which can help with things such as encouraging regular menstruation, promoting ovulation, and relieving the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. It is known for being calming, relaxing and helping to reduce stress.

Tui Na Massage (Chinese massage)

Like Acupuncture this style of massage can be used in different ways. It can be very gentle and soothing like Holistic Massage (called Yin Style Tui Na) or it can be stronger and deeper like a Sports Massage (called Yang Style Tui Na).

Tui Na is effective for a range of problems usually classified as external in Chinese Medicine. Meaning that most conditions relate to the muscular-skeletal system, especially problems involving too much tension. Tui Na is relatively new in the West, however it is used extensively in China where many hospitals have a Tui Na department.
