Sue Over ITEC DIP ESSTM cert Rolfer

Clinical massage therapist

My aim is to help people feel flexible and pain-free, and to have optimum range of motion by freeing up tight, compressive tissue. My approach is a fusion of many different approaches, which are tailored to each body. This can be a deeply relaxing treatment or one that focuses on lengthening and opening the body. My passion is working with shoulders and neck pain to help realign and release tension

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is the manipulation of soft tissue, helping to release areas of tension, free up painful knots and restore flexibility to the muscular system. My particular type of massage is unique and uses a fusion of Swedish massage, Shiatsu and deep tissue techniques. It can be firm, but it does not mean that it is painful. It can be a deeply relaxing session, or if there is a persistent area of tension, the session can focus on smaller localised areas, e.g. back, neck and shoulder or lower back and legs.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a whole body treatment that recognises that tightness and restrictions in one area of the body can cause compensatory patterns which affect the whole structure.

It works directly on restricted fascia, which is like a thin tissue that covers all muscles and organs of the body. Fascia gives the body support and structure, it can be thought of as a deep body stocking. If the body experiences, stress, trauma, emotional or physical, or becomes used to being in a particular position, e.g sitting for long periods in front of a screen, the fascia becomes short and tight and pulls on the skeleton. This uneven stress can be transmitted through the fascia to other parts of the body causing discomfort and compensatory patterns of tension.

Thai Foot Massage

Thai Foot Massage is a massage of the feet and also lower legs. Thai foot massage is both invigorating and deeply relaxing and involves hands on elements of Shiatsu, Reflexology and Chinese massage, incorporated into the treatment. Traditional Thai foot massage includes the use of traditional Thai massage stick as well as using the palms, fingers, thumbs and knuckles to work the feet.

Stress-Fix Massage

This holistic approach to relieving feelings of stress introduces a fusion of techniques and aromas, using Aveda’s Stress-Fix aromatic blend, infused with organic French Lavender, Lavender and Clary Sage, with deep tissue work, acupressure, reflexology and hot towels to induce deep relaxation and release stress from the body.

Reviews

I had been having migraine headaches for a few days & I decided to book the Stress-Fix massage to help with the headaches. I was booked in with Sue as my therapist. Sue was just brilliant! It was a wonderfully relaxing massage & definitely made me feel so much better. My muscles were less stiff & achy than when I came in, with sore & tight muscle pain. The oils of Lavender & Sage were soothing & calming, & the reflexology at the end just made me want to drift off to sleep. Sue did a great job & I left feeling so much better. This massage is one I definitely recommend with Sue. Thank you.

I had an excellent massage from Sue Over. She was thoughtful about what worked best for me. She definitely helped loosen up some particular areas of tightness but with a whole body approach. Highly recommend!
